Porquerolles, its port and its village
Porquerolles is the largest of the Îles d’Hyères, just a 20-minute boat ride from Hyères. Upon arrival at the port, you’ll discover a lively village with its cafes, restaurants, and small shops. Here, there are no cars: the island is best explored on foot or, even better, by bicycle. Thanks to our bike rental service in Porquerolles, you can easily reach the beaches, vineyards, and shaded trails. Renting a bike guarantees you’ll fully enjoy the island while respecting its pristine environment.
Visitors have plenty to do: swimming at Notre-Dame or Argent beaches, hiking on the trails, visiting Fort Sainte-Agathe, or tasting local wines. But cycling remains the most practical and enjoyable way to experience it all. Renting an electric bike or a trailer allows you to explore the island with complete freedom, even with children.
Our advice: start your day with a stroll through the village, then cycle to Notre-Dame beach for a seaside picnic. In the late afternoon, enjoy a drink on a terrace in the port before catching your boat back. It’s the quintessential Porquerolles experience, combining relaxation, nature, and authenticity.
Discover Porquerolles by bike:
Notre-Dame Beach
Notre-Dame beach is a true Mediterranean gem, voted the most beautiful beach in Europe in 2015. Located on the northeast coast of Porquerolles, it’s accessible after a pleasant 45-minute hike along shaded paths… but in just 15 minutes by bike, you can enjoy a quick and comfortable ride. Thanks to our bike rental service in Porquerolles, whether you need a mountain bike, an electric bike, or a trailer for children, access becomes simple and enjoyable.
Its fine sand, turquoise waters, and the surrounding pine forest make it an ideal spot for a swim or a family picnic. We recommend going early in the morning to enjoy the peace and quiet and avoid the crowds. With an electric bike, carrying a cooler or games for the children is much more convenient.
Our recommendations from island natives: For snorkeling enthusiasts, explore the rocks on the east side of the beach, where marine life is particularly abundant. You’ll find schools of colorful fish and sometimes even starfish.
As it is part of the Port-Cros National Park, we encourage everyone to respect the environment and leave no trace of their visit.

Courtade Beach is the largest beach on Porquerolles and one of the most accessible. Located just a 10-minute walk from the port, it’s even quicker to reach by bike: in just a few minutes with our rental bicycles, you’ll have your toes in the sand.
Lined with pine and eucalyptus trees, Courtade offers a peaceful and natural atmosphere. Its golden sand and shallow waters make it ideal for families with children. Thanks to its size, everyone can find their own space, even in peak season.
As for activities, swimming is perfect in its calm waters. For snorkeling, our local tip: explore the rocky areas near the shore, where you can observe colorful fish. The beach is also a good starting point for paddleboarding or kayaking, and it easily connects to cycle paths to extend your ride.
Unlike more secluded beaches, Courtade benefits from convenient amenities: restrooms, showers, and the immediate proximity of the village with its restaurants and cafes. It’s the ideal beach for a relaxed family outing.
Silver Beach
Silver Beach, a jewel of Porquerolles Island, is a true Mediterranean paradise. Imagine a stretch of fine, white sand, bathed by crystal-clear waters with silvery reflections, which also gave it its name.
Silver Beach is one of Porquerolles’ most popular beaches, especially with families. Located on the northwest coast, it’s easily accessible from the village in just a few minutes by bike.
Its sparkling white sand and shallow waters make it ideal for children. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, perfect for spending a whole day swimming and doing other activities.
For leisure activities, Silver Beach is a true playground: swimming in calm, safe waters, snorkeling to observe fish and marine plants, and also paddleboarding and kayaking for those who want a more active experience.
Our recommendations: paddleboard along the coast to discover secluded coves, or enjoy snorkeling near the rocks to the left of the beach for a beautiful marine diversity.
To extend the fun, you can have lunch at the restaurant or snack bars located right on the beach. With an electric bike or a trailer, transporting a picnic and your belongings becomes simple and convenient.

Plage noire

Black Beach is one of Porquerolles’ most mysterious beaches. Located on the south coast, it’s accessible by bike via more rugged trails, offering a different experience from the main beaches.
Its dark, almost black sand contrasts beautifully with the deep blue of the Mediterranean.
The atmosphere is unique: wild, tranquil, and ideal for those seeking solitude in the heart of nature. Swimming is possible in its clear waters, but the beach is especially popular for snorkeling.
Our recommendation: explore the rocky areas to the west, where visibility is excellent and marine life is more abundant. For the more adventurous, it’s also a great starting point for exploring by kayak along the cliffs.
As it’s part of the Port-Cros National Park, we encourage everyone to respect the environment and leave no trace of their visit.
